My name is Mike Jones and three years ago my wife died.   I weighed 27 stone and had to change.  I went to Slimming World.  The For All Healthy Living Centre hosted a walking group and I was asked to take it over.  I called it Mike’s Alternative Health Walks, then changed it to Strollers.  It began on a Tuesday and I really wanted to help people out as three years ago I got that help.  The walks I lead are free of charge and are open to all.  Walking is good for social well being and mental health as it helps you to relax.

My new walk will start from Weston Museum on Friday 7th February 2020 and will run every Friday morning.  Walkers can meet me at the museum cafe at midday and we will leave for the walk at 1pm.  The cafe serves hot drinks, lunches and cakes.

My walk is two miles long and takes in buildings of historic interest following a route along the Boulevard, Winter Gardens, the seafront and back along Oxford Street.  We will stop at the Victorian Cafe en route.  Dog walkers are welcome, but please note that only assistance dogs are welcome inside the museum. All dogs are welcome at the Victorian Cafe.  My walk is risk assessed, insured and in the event of bad weather will be cancelled.  You don’t have to walk all the way if you don’t want to.  The walk is on various bus routes such as the 1, 5 and 7.

I look forward to meeting you!  Mike Jones
