Object Donations & Enquiries

The team at Weston Museum love to hear your stories of the fascinating objects you have in your own collections, but if you would like to donate them to the collection there are few things you should know first.

The North Somerset Collection is managed and curated by the South West Heritage Trust and they are the best people to contact if you would like to donate an object to us. The Trust focus on collecting objects with a strong North Somerset connection. This includes objects which were found in North Somerset or made by a known North Somerset person or organisation.

The North Somerset Collection consists of around 50,000 objects so if the trust is unable to except your donation it may be because we already have similar items in the collection or because the item is more relevant to another Museum.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of donating an object, please contact the South West heritage Trust directly on 01823 278805 or email museums@swheritage.org.uk.

If you have an enquiry about your family history or local history, please contact the North Somerset Studies Library at Weston Library on 01934 426 010 or email local.history@n-somerset.gov.uk.

If you would need an image of an object in the North Somerset Council museum collection, please contact the South West Heritage Trust on 01823 278805 or email museums@swheritage.org.uk. Please note that reproductions fees apply.

Digital images of objects in the collection through Bridgeman Images. Prints of objects from the collection can be purchased from Art UK.
