Each year Weston Museum plays host to a number of events which provide opportunities for both enthusiasts and families to enjoy a great day out.

If you are looking for something a bit different within your teaching, but aren’t sure what’s out there, then join in with our local providers INSET day
• Meet a variety of educational providers from your local area, covering history, STEM, literacy, craft and design etc
• Find out about learning offers outside of the classroom
• Get ideas for new activities and visits
• Take part in hands on workshop sessions to try out some new topics
• Get your ‘wow day’ activities planned in advance
• Get your pre visit to the museum all ticked off (get everything you need for a visit done by signing off a risk assessment and pre-prepared trail activities all in one go)

To book spaces for your teaching staff, just call the museum on 01934 621028 or email katherine.bell@wsm-tc.gov.uk. Places are limited, so book early. Tickets cost £20 each and include light refreshments, lunches can be ordered through our lovely cafe or you are free to bring your own (not included).

“One Head Many Crowns” by Dr John Kirkhope examines the role of Queen Elizabeth II as Queen, Duke  of Lancaster, Head of the Commonwealth, Head of the Church of England, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

          Weston Museum’s monthly ‘Tea and Talk’ usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month and features a wide variety of subjects and speakers from our wonderful band of volunteers. Enjoy a short talk followed by a drink and some cake, with the opportunity for an informal chat with the speaker.

There is no need to book ahead and the small charge of £3 includes tea or coffee as well as some of the delicious homemade cake, baked on site at the museum in Claras’s Cafe.

Museum Sensations – A tactile and audio described event for visitors with visual impairments at Weston Museum

Enjoy a picture description of a few works from the Alfred Leete exhibition and the Permanent Collections followed by the chance to get creative with artist Susannah Crook.

This event is for blind and partially sighted visitors and their supporters.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Free (voluntary donation of £5)
Only 14 places available for one person and their supporter, please book prior to the event by phoning the museum on 01934 621028 or popping in.

Christmas Special Pub Quiz Night @ Weston Museum

Our Christmas Special Pub Quiz night will include a Christmas Cake raffle, mince pies and mulled wine and Christmas themed questions! ❄️
Please wear festive clothing…time to wear that favourite Christmas jumper! ❄️
 
Try your luck at our monthly quiz night; learn a little about your local history and have a laugh at the same time. We promise to keep the questions simple, with only the occasional head scratcher thrown in!
 
The quiz includes a mystery object round, so whilst you’re enjoying your drink from our bar of locally sourced drinks and nibbles, you can also have a guess at a selection of historical objects and replicas.
 
Only £5 to enter a team (of up to five people) and there is a prize for the winning team. Numbers are limited so you can book in advance to guarantee your team a slot, but if there is space then we won’t turn you away on the night. Join us from 6.30 pm, ready for the quiz to start at 7.30pm.
