Get crafty this October half term and create some Halloween themed masterpieces!
 
Monday 29th October- Halloween & Day of the Dead themed crafts.

Tuesday 30th October – Sand art with Rainbow Sands and rock painting with Weston-Super-Rocks

Wednesday 31st October – Lots of crafty creative bits with ‘Scrapstore’. Sand art with Rainbow Sands
Thursday 1st November – Sand art with Rainbow Sands and rock painting with Weston-Super-Rocks
Friday 2nd November – Halloween & Day of the Dead themed crafts.
 
Drop in any time between 11am and 3pm. Some activities have a set price and others are a suggested donation, but all are only a small cost and you can take away your creations with you at the end. All you need is your imagination, so everyone can join in, from under 5s to adults.

Come along to a family friendly lego workshop during the October half term and rummage through a mountain of lego to create your own Halloween themed masterpiece!
 
Workshops last for one hour at timed slots throughout the day; tickets should be bought in advance, as numbers are limited. You can do this by popping in to our museum reception or by giving us a call (you can pay by card over the phone).
Ticket costs are £3 per child, £5 for 2 children together.
 
As per lego advice, we are accepting children of age 4 and up (children aged just under 4 can attend too, but only if the parent or carer stays with them to supervise closely. Children under 3 will unfortunately not be able to take part on this occasion). Please be aware that adults will need to stay within earshot/sight of children, but are free to enjoy the café by sitting at one of the tables just next to the Learning Space (enjoy a peaceful cuppa whilst your children enjoy some lego building!).

toddler explorers posterBring your little explorers along to a friendly session at Weston Museum run by the lovely team from the YMCA. Take part in themed craft and sensory activities, which you can follow up by exploring the museum and its family friendly displays, as well as enjoying a bite to eat in the cafe.

£2 per family. Pay on the day, no booking needed. Please be sure to arrive between museum opening at 10am and session start time of 10.30am to get settled in.

Museum Sensations – A tactile and audio described event for visitors with visual impairments at Weston Museum

Enjoy a picture description of a few works from the Alfred Leete exhibition and the Permanent Collections followed by the chance to get creative with artist Susannah Crook.

This event is for blind and partially sighted visitors and their supporters.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Free (voluntary donation of £5)
Only 14 places available for one person and their supporter, please book prior to the event by phoning the museum on 01934 621028 or popping in.

The exhibition also looks at the remarkable turn of events that lead to the establishment of the Skidmores shop in Worle High Street, one hundred years ago.

“One Head Many Crowns” by Dr John Kirkhope examines the role of Queen Elizabeth II as Queen, Duke  of Lancaster, Head of the Commonwealth, Head of the Church of England, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

          Weston Museum’s monthly ‘Tea and Talk’ usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month and features a wide variety of subjects and speakers from our wonderful band of volunteers. Enjoy a short talk followed by a drink and some cake, with the opportunity for an informal chat with the speaker.

There is no need to book ahead and the small charge of £3 includes tea or coffee as well as some of the delicious homemade cake, baked on site at the museum in Claras’s Cafe.

An evening of being kind to yourself and your loved ones, this event is for men and women and one which hopes to encourage kindness to all through self care.

Its an opportunity to explore new areas of wellbeing, what thay means to you and enagage with professionals who have proven that nature knows best – covering all areas of healing, health and beauty topics.

You will get to listen to a short talk from each practitioner on what they offer, sip some lovely prossecco or non-alcoholic fizzy and take home a gorgeous goody bag – there will be special offers on the night!
