The Big Lunch is a very simple idea from the Eden Project. The aim is to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities. In 2013, 3.65 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the fifth annual Big Lunch. Come and take part This October 19th.

Tickets will be a donation charge and all money raise will go towards the museums redevolpement.
Tickets will be available late september – purchase can be made from the museums reception.
This special event will be showcasing Roman’s clothing store (in the Sovereign Centre) new seasons clothing range with a wide range of styles to suit all shapes and sizes. The event is in aid of the Weston-super-Mares charities Avon riding centre, Sunshine Radio and Cross roads care.
Admission is £7.50 and includes nibbles and a glass of wine.
As part of the Blakehay Theatre’s new Summer cafe exhibitions programme, Weston Museum will be showcasing a display of the grand plans for the museum’s refurbishment and the outreach work that will be taking place during the closure. Visitors can come and chat with a member of the Museum’s workforce, learn about the volunteer experience and support the work taking place by getting involved with the Buy-a-Block scheme.
