Each year Weston Museum plays host to a number of events which provide opportunities for both enthusiasts and families to enjoy a great day out.

 Guest speaker David Skidmore shares family WW1 stories and discusses the remarkable turn of events that lead to the establishment of the Skidmores shop in Worle High Street, one hundred years ago.

Weston Museum’s monthly ‘Tea and Talk’ usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and features a wide variety of subjects and speakers from our wonderful band of volunteers.

Enjoy a short talk followed by a drink and some cake, with the opportunity for an informal chat with the speaker and to mingle with friends.

There is no need to book ahead and the small charge of £3 includes tea or coffee as well as some of the delicious homemade cake, baked on site at the museum in Claras’s Cafe.

HARRY POTTER THEMED SLIME WORKSHOPS & SAND ART

Make your own MAGICAL Purple GLITTERY Slime or LAVA Potion Slime

Tickets are £5 per child to design their slime, experiment and play with it, and then take it home!

All materials and instruction provided. Minimum age 4 years old.

Reading and Writing Poetry @ Weston Museum

Weston Museum shall be hosting a Reading and Writing Poetry workshop. This will be for seven weeks commencing Wednesday 23rd January.

It shall be run in conjunction with the Workers Education Association.

The course will cost £52 but those receiving certain benefits may be entitled to undertake the course for free.

Step back in time and enjoy a full day of historical activities! Meet scores of re-enactors who will provide a glimpse into a different age. Featuring marching Romans soldiers, Iron Age craftsmen, medieval herbalists, Victorian re-enactors and some WW2 characters to name but a few!

This is a FREE event in our covered courtyard so drop in any time between 10.00 am – 5.00.pm.

Suitable for the whole family. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Enjoy lunch at Clara’s Café with lunch box specials for children!

 

Learning is at the heart of the Museum’s aims and on the following days we have a selection of hands-on ‘Living History’ workshops for children. Suitable for children aged six and above.

Thursday 21 Feb: VICTORIAN DAY Victorian Children at Work & Play – Get covered in coal and soot as you learn about Victorian chimney sweeps and make a replica clay chimney pot.
