The Insect Photography of Levon Biss
Microsculpture is a ground breaking project by the British photographer Levon Biss. It presents insect specimens from the Oxford University Museum of Natural History like never before. These images reveal an unexpected and often breathtaking beauty and make visible the many intricate adaptations to the form of insects – what entomologists call their microsculpture.
Microsculpture is a unique exhibition that presents insects like never before. The clarity and detail in the up to three metre prints brings normally unseen beauty to the audience, allowing them to study these stunning creatures in minute detail. The exhibition provides unique visual experience and celebrates the beauty of the natural world.

Happy HeARTs is a series of workshops that will allow you to enjoy the benefits that creative art brings to your emotional and physical well-being.
This journey of self-discovery and self-healing will unlock the power of the sub-concious mind, allowing you to de-stress, relax and unwind.
You will explore a variety of ancient tools including mandala, affirmations and journalling. Using these therapeutic processes you will create your own art using self-expression rather than having high expectations of creating a masterpiece.
These workshops will increase creativity, intuition and help to manifest your dreams. They will change your limiting beliefs, heal emotional pain and will help you manage emotions in a positive way. Increasing confidence and happiness, helping you achieve the life you want to live.
Hosted by Jo Green.
Therapeutic Art & Happiness Life Coach, Professional Animal Portrait Artist, founder of Creations by Fina & Happy HeARTs.
Try your luck at our pub quiz; learn a little about your local history and have a laugh at the same time. You don’t need lots of historical knowledge; we promise to keep the questions simple, with only the occasional head scratcher thrown in. The quiz includes a mystery object round, so whilst you’re enjoying your drink, you can also have a guess at a selection of historical objects and replicas.
It’s free to enter a team (of up to five people) and the pub landlord has kindly donated a prize for the winning team. You don’t need to register beforehand, just turn up ready to start at 7:30pm.
This new art exhibition will showcase the work of people with mental health needs who have been participating in the ‘Art for wellbeing’ programme of workshops run by the Milestones Trust. Entitled ‘Bearing Fruit’, the exhibition will feature work by 18 art group members using a range of materials including watercolour, drawings and acrylics. This includes ‘Second Step’ art group who meet on Wednesdays at the Quaker building in Weston and facilitated by Fred Butterfield.
Weston-super-Mare is a coastal community and as such the RNLI plays a huge part in our society.
To support such an important institution Weston Museum is playing host to an exhibition of over 200 jigsaw puzzles. They will completely take over one of our exhibition spaces.
All proceeds raised within the exhibition will go to the RNLI.
